I live in England and is having a filling-does it hurt?

answers 0:Hi, I live in England and am with Oasis Dental Clinic-I'm going to be having 2 fillings this month and am petrified. Could anybody please explain a little more about the procedure, the injection, and the likelihood of recieving numbing gel? My dentist doesn't have a TV or anything, and I doubt they'd give me 'special treatment' as I'm 14 years old and he's started to treat me like an adult...no sticker, ect. How bad is the pain on a scale of 1-10? Does anybody have any basic information at all?Could anybody give me any tips or advice?I'd really appreciate it and am petrified!thank you....Show moreanswers 1:it isn't really that bad, I've actually had a lot of fillings. First they numb you with something like novocaine. And yes, it is an injection. Just try not to think about it and if y! ou stress out it will probably hurt more. The muscles in your mouth will tense up which will make it even harder with the needle. Then when your numb enough they drill a hole in your teeth, and this shouldn't hurt at all. Then I'm not entirely sure about how they fill the hole but that doesn't really hurt much either. Trust me, you'll be fine. My first time having a filling was when I was in the second grade and I didn't think it hurt very much then....
