How to get out of special education?!?

Tyler Burkman: Like others have expressed, i become elated to locate YA's area for particular preparation. i have no longer been right here very lengthy yet have already bookmarked this variety of massive volume of questions & solutions. you be conscious, I no longer in truth come from a kin of particular preparation instructors & directors, yet i'm also a worried figure. about those off-topic questions, the present engineering ones in certain- i have heard of "tremendous Engineering". perhaps that is one rationalization why questions were placed right here incorrectly. someone would have merely instantly scanned the topics & mistook this to be an area for individuals reading those specialties or pursuing degrees/careers in such. perhaps the powers that be at YA will create an area for some thing geared in route of them, in the journey that they have not already. perhaps they'll label topics extra particularly, as bethikinz stated..or position a textual content descriptio! n below each topic. they might also create a area for particular preparation (& extra) careers. As for the different offbeat questions, certain, I completely consider "luvmy4boyz32"... this question might want to be starred!...Show more

Hobert Dula: Talk to your parents about getting your math and language skills assessed. There are plenty of assessments that will look at exactly where you're at, to see where you should be placed. In addition, you cannot be placed in special education unless your parents consent to your being there. Talk to them.

Loise Mausser: Talk to your parents - they're the ones who are signing your IEP which outlines what accommodations you should have each year. By signing it, they agree to it and it can be implemented. They are the ones who can drive the changes. Do however keep in mind that if you're only working on grade 5 math right now - even if it's easy for you - you're now 3 years behind and while it may be feasible to pick up th! e pace or work towards trying to catch you, you're not going t! o be successful at just going from special ed grade 5 math where you can have someone explain the concepts 1:1 to a regular classroom with 1 teacher and 30 students and working on grade 8 math. But talk to your parents about finding something that works better for you....Show more
