Rona Espalin: Go to your local school superintendents office. That is were I had to register to let them know I was homeschooling. I searched the web and found regulations in Washington state. Go on the Internet there are support groups and advocates and all kinds of information. The homeschooling movement is gaining in popularity, especially since our schools are becoming battle grounds. This is a bunch of regulations in your state on home schooling.
Rickey Vrieze: the reason you ge different answers is because you are not clear on what program to seekif you are going to pay and seek a local close by the house preschool...the age could vary because they are all privately owned and provide different programssome may sever younger childrecall those centers and ask and go and observe..ask to see the program and go talk to the directorother options might be a home day care that provides preschool serves and you can call and speak to them tooanother option through your ! local school district and serving low income or single parents maybe be a head start..or state preschool program ...head start serves children from 2.9 years of age and state preschool 3.9....some states have early head start free programs for working or going to school parents with income qualifications for children 6 weeks to 3 yearsyou have to complete applications for these programs..they are much different than centers you pay forchurches some times offer preschool so check your areaemail me if you have other specific questions...it is confusing for even someone who has been in the field for years...i would just start researching your arearelaxvote for a best answer...Show more
Mitchell Pickens: Preschool is not required. Generally, most kids only benefit from prek, the year before they start kindergarten. Preschools are either private, church-run, head start, or at the elementary. All depends on the area. I would avoid day care centers even if they offer 'presch! ool'.
Ardelia Liptow: thank you everyone for your input ! I will be putting my daughter on the waiting list for the local unified school district
