Whether Egg is vegetarian food or Non vegetarian food?

Gordon Showes: egg is a non vegetarian food as it comes from a chicken but milk is also vegetarian but it comes out of the cow. it is up to you decide egg is a vegetarian food or not. i take it as avegetarian food

Maye Delk: Gary Yourofsky an AR lecturer & Ex-extremist has a good quote ''I don't think theres any doubt that hatred in its purest form is learned. Discrimination is either evil on its foundations, or its notThere are trucks that we've constructed to withold animals, inside these trucks there are living terrified innocent beings Cows, pigs, chickens. These trucks are being driven to slaughterhouses, when they arrive, the animals are so frightened they won't even get off the damn truck, they're not stupid. So people go on the trucks with electric prods & force them off truck down the chutes to their own death. In other words they go inside against their will & come out chopped up into pieces,How would you feel that the day you were born? Somebody else had ! already planned the dates of your excecution, thats what its like to be a cow chicken etc.I think this logic is inexcusable & unbecoming of a species that claims to understand right from wrong.''****The videos of workers beating the animals are largely over exaggerated, usually the video is twisted by the people showing it to force a certain agenda. Many of these videos originally were filmed to highlight the lack of regulation in the slaughter industry & to file against the company who's workers were doing the abuse (hence why people sneak into the slaughterhouse with cameras in the first place). That being said a lot of the video is truth, eg chickens are not part of the humane slaughter act & are killed fully conscious. With the death of 50 billion land animals annually, of course there are going to be mistakes in bolting the animal & animals falling off the slaughter line etc.Regardless, the slaughterhouse is about 2% of the animals life. Much worse atrocities occur in ! the raising of the animal. Even if welfare is in place, some t! hings cannot be avoided (sexing in the hen industry, veal in the dairy industry etc)....Show more

Dorethea Beaston: Boiling leaches vitamins/minerals out of veggies. Steaming cooks them while leaving nutrients intact (if not steamed to mush).Boiling does not change fiber content.TRUE: "steamed vegetables retain water-soluble vitamins that boiled vegetables do not"HB in frying pan: Conduction.

Bennie Lantgen: You have to live with your yourself so if you can look at yourself in the mornings and not recoil, then I guess you're doing what you think is right. My morals are not your morals. Ariel's morals are not my morals. We all have different standards by which we live our lives. As long as you're not breaking the law, beating babies, kicking puppies and kittens, then I guess we can let you live....Show more

Tijuana Tatsak: So because you think it then everyone else must think that.

Morris Olexy: I suggest you go look for yourself. It's doable. From! what I have seen the extreme torture you see on YouTube is not common practice (at least not where I live) but the cold hard reality is bad enough in itself. Especially when animals are hauled in trucks over great distances to be slaughtered. This happens in Europe mostly for the production of certified regional products (that are sold worldwide). Take for instance parma ham. Certified to come from the region of Parma. Yet you could not possibly fit enough pigs in the region to produce parma ham for the world. So the pigs are bred and raised elsewhere, and then loaded into trucks to be hauled from all over Europe to Parma to be slaughtered there to fit in with the regulations for the Protected Designation of Origin. As far as I am concerned that is torture enough before they even REACH the slaughter house....Show more

Coleman Coscia: steamed vegetables are more rigid and provide more fiber than boiled vegetables orvegetables lose their flavor when immersed in water or! boiled vegetables contain more fat than steamed vegetables orsteamed ve! getables retain water-soluble vitamins that boiled vegetables do notalso;cooking a hamburger in a frying pan would be an example of what type of heat? radiation or conduction or convection or none of these...Show more

Troy Monsivais: Eggs are not vegetarian per say but there are several type of people who call themselves vegetarians:Oval-Lacto - Eggs and Cheese but no meat (This is my family)Lacto - Cheese only (This is me as I don't really eat eggs.)Vegan - These are people who do not eat any products produced from animals. (Tried this it did not work for me.)...Show more

Rheba Cockman: An ovo-lacto vegetarian will eat eggs and dairly products. Vegans eat no animal products whatsoever.

Danette Slotnick: Ive noticed that a lot of people either are vegetarians or cnvince hemselves that eating meat isnt cruel. I think it is cruel, i think any killing of animals is cruel. But i still eat meat. Its nt that im unaware that what im doing is cruel, im just prepa! red to be a certain amount of cruel. Im just comfortable with the fact that sometimes i do morally wrong things. Just because i consider something wrong doesnt mean necessarily i mind doing it. Anyone else feel this way?

Lillie Yarde: i'm having a hard time understanding the exact question, but i'll give it a shot. steamed vegetables are, in my opinion, better tasting. there's no difference in fat grams between steamed and boiled vegetables. adding toppings like butter, oil or cheese will increase fat content. as far as vitamins and minerals go, i think steamed are better for you - but follow this rule of thumb - the closer to the natural state, the more nutrients retained. for example, with potatoes - a whole potato baked has more nutrients than french fries, which contain more nutrients than potato chips.

Arleen Bussing: Why to go vegan?http://www.peta.org/issues/animals-used-for-food/m...http://www.veganasfuck.com/frequently-asked-questi...http://www.chooseve! g.com/animal-cruelty.asphttp://www.peta.org/issues/animals-used-for-foo! d/g...http://youtu.be/sDea6L9gPD8

Emerita Sciandra: I've never killed or harmed an animal. But I buy meat at the grocery.

Carli Watterson: i think most people refer to it as no red meat mainly thats why some vegeterians eat fish as well.

Faviola Dewire: no its not. people are just more worried about the cows than their own healthhilarious if you ask mesay you care about animals but dont, just like to be liberal protestorsancient humans used to eat meat and meat only.if we were all vegetarians in 50 years the world would be a bunch of unhealthy sacks of bones with mental problems...Show more

Samatha Nicar: It is upto one to decide what he should eat. It may be based on the taste, health benefits, health hazards or other aesthetic matters. Now come to the dependance/independance you have mentioned in your question. Our nature is made by the almighty in such a way that, each and every one is some way or other connected to all others. Plants also do depend! on other living beings. The manure from which it gets the nutrients is generally decay product of other living beings. It may be a decay product of plant material or animal material. the way you are stating the independance, I feel that I am getting disconnected from the rest of the world, my mother earth being a vegetarian. Please don't use the word not dependant on others. Even I and you may also be dependant on each other even if we lives in different parts of the earth. Some people may feel that eating a meat product or animal product is cruel. In some respect they are true also. But in the nature you can see preys and predator. By being a predator, I feel, the tiger or lion is cruel to others. From your name, it seems that you belongs to or have your ethnic origin from India. Though India is great country with a very long history, there is very high attack of religions into the way one should live. The style of life of one is dictated by the religious leaders. They gene! rally( religios leaders or priests) acts as retail licensees of god. My! advice to you that don't let the religion to dictate the way you should live ,eat, bath, sleep, run, walk etc.Now coming to cruelty in food, I feel, milk is the cruelest form of food the mankind takes. By milking a cow, goat or buffallo, you are denying it's baby the food that was made exclusively for the infant living being by its mother. Just think yourself in the same situation. The love of a mother, her affection, the bonding between the mother and a child, is said to be enhance by breast feeding of baby.(In the case of human). Our fellow animals also have the same right in this earth as we have. By looking at the nature also you cannot find any other species exploiting some animals for their milk other than humans. There are carnivorous animals, herbivorous animals and animals which take both. But no other animal except the cruel man drinks milk of a cow. In India you worship cow and force its kid to be in hunger. It's ridiculous. My advice to you is that you have what! ever you like without worrying about whether it is vegetarian or non-vegetarian food. Prey and predator are part of our nature. Even a vegetarian preys on leafy vegetables which is also a form of life. But don't drink milk. It is the cruelest form of food man discovered....Show more

Donnell Nocella: Yes I feel the same way. I was a vegetarian a number of years ago and then I started to eat meat again. It's not that I don't care about animals, because I do, but I've just accepted the reality that animals are killed for our food and that's what happens. I fully respect those who choose not to eat meat but I feel that my body needs it and I just don't feel the need to beat myself up about it any more.

Pasty Cobbett: Like a cow can't make a vegetable, nether can a chicken or anything else that lays or expels eggs. The main key here is the word vegetarian. There is no egg in vegetarian. Only vegetables.

Pasty Cobbett: Actually steamed vegetables don't cook o! ut the nutrients like boiling in water does, especially if you drain th! e water off after cooking. So the true statement is that steamed vegetables retain water-soluble vitamins that boiled vegetables do not.

Chadwick Schmelz: You shouldn't listen to scare tactics like that, no matter how much it may agree with your line or thinking and no matter how convincing it might be. Yes it is to convince people to not eat meat. But then again, you shouldn't need a video on Youtube to adjust your moral code. If you want to eat meat, eat meat. If you don't, then don't. Simple.EDIT: Funny how, in this section, if I am not specifically telling someone to not eat meat and that they should always listen to some propaganda exploiting animal torture regardless of the people making the video, I get thumbs down. Propaganda, scare tactics, regardless of their message, are not the right sources to listen to....Show more

Jeannetta Gaffigan: Eating meat is a human right. Now, I personally am vegan. I was like you for many years. I knew, but had a di! sconnect. As great as it would be for everyone to stop, they won't out of selfishness. It is your choice what you do. If you can live with the guilt, then keep eating meat I guess. No one can stop you but you.

Elfreda Grossen: Eggs are animal protein. Case closed.

Margart Stimpert: steamed veggies retain vitaminshamburger in the pan is conduction

Manual Burtis: The majority of your eggs come from large farms that do not contain males therfore the egg cannot become fertilized and produce a chick. The hen lays an egg every 26 hours if a male is near or not. If you dont eat eggs because they come from an animal then some hen is laying eggs for no one.

Toby Women: boiling takes out more vitamins than steaming.

Russell Mckinzie: Steaming vegetables is better than boiling because when you boil your vegetables you loose not only flavor but 98% of your vitamins.

Stan Conley: WHAT? i am very confused, but i will try to answer...althouhg there r! eally isnt much to add...vegetarians are not people who dont rely on an! imals forf ood, if that were true then they wouldnt eat eggs or cheese or milk or yoghurts or honey,Vegys are people who dont eat dead bodies-any form of MEATpescetarians-people who eat fish but not meatvegans-people who eat no product from an animal, including eggs....Show more

Asa Soho: steamed vegetables retain water-soluble vitamins that boiled vegetables do notcooking a hamburger in a frying pan would be an example of conduction

Silvia Stclair: i imagine only few would be that bad, however im sure that most places treat them horribly before hand toobut dead is dead right, how you kill it doesnt matter, its dead

Janita Tetlow: At best they are treated with callous disregard. They are objects to be killed and processed as quickly as possible, with no emotional input. And because of mechanisation, slip ups occur where animals are slaughtered whilst conscious, either by having their throats slit or by being dunked in scalding hot vats of water.Incursion! s happen all the time when slaughtering animals. It is not just propaganda. How was all the youtube footage obtained? Did activists go to dozens of different abattoirs before they got the goods? I don't think they had to look that hard. Here are a couple of news items about abattoirs in Australia that were recently shut down because of animal abuse. They are news items, not veg*n propaganda videos.http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-02-09/nsw-abattoir...http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-11-30/abattoir-clo......Show more

Oscar Wieland: Cruel.Exodus 20:8-11SDA

Arnoldo Budzynski: It's a scare tactic, normally from places not even in the states where there's TONS of restrictions. There's several "decent" ways to slaughter for food...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_slaughter...Show more

Doreatha Kjellsen: Steamed veggies retain slightly more water soluble vitamins.Try this (if using frozen veggies) boil water, turn heat off,add veggies

Brittanie Zakutney:! steamed vegetables are more rigid and provide more fiber than boiled v! egetables ANDvegetables lose their flavor when immersed in water AND steamed vegetables retain water-soluble vitamins that boiled vegetables do not ARE ALL TRUE. Most people when boiling their vegetables, throw away the best partâ€"the cooking water. Steaming vegetables conserves the maximum amount of nutrients by subjecting the vegetables to the least amount of heat,Steaming is one of the healthiest and quickest ways to cook vegetables. It leaves more of the vegetables’ natural taste, texture and color intact than any other method; seals in more vitamins and minerals than if you would have boiled or baked them; and it requires no added fat. NOW>>>>For some reason you emailed me directly about this??The meat in the pan is Conduction The mode of heat transfer within a substance or by solids in direct contact with each other when a temperature difference exists. Conduction heating is most influenced by how easily the heat travels through the substance--its thermal conduct! ivity--and how much mass there is to absorb the heat energy.

Babette Deloe: Its not cruel to eat meat. The animals are very well cared for and killed in a very humane manner. Millions upon millions of animals that are killed so vegans can eat are chopped up, ground up and buried alive by combines and tillers

Rick Duchane: if you search it on youtube, they always show torture, but is it really like that or is it just to convince people not to eat meat?

Len Bormes: Meat was meant for us to eat, we are mammals a created species, so if lions can hunt and eat meat, then so can I.

German Thal: when you boil veggies you loose alot of their vitiman and color too. Eoither blanch them real quick or steam them. Its helathier

Noah Deni: Slaughterhouse is a place to kill animals for food, there is no getting around that. It is a bloody business and most people will not be able to stay in one for long. But places vary and "torture" is relative. Animal "right! s" vegetarians and vegans will always say "torture" no matter how an an! imal is treated. Such "commercial" videos on YouTube are produced for the express purpose of eliciting specific responses according to the agenda of the maker. In this case, it is to convince people not to eat meat....Show more

Nikki Sypult: Yes...eggs are a product from an animal but the egg is not a living thing and the animal it came from was not slaughtered to get the egg. Although there are a few different types of vegetarians, the main thing they all have in common is that they eat no animal flesh (this includes fish despite what some ignorant people might think). Since egg is not flesh, it can be considered vegetarian friendly. Lacto-Ovo vegetarians (the most common) use dairy and egg.

Bernadette Roel: i dont really understand about vegetarian. but i tot egg is non vegetarian. some of my vegetarian's friend dont eat egg at all. she said egg is a living thing, and if u eat it means u kill it. ?????

Claire Billegas: I'm sure I wouldn't mind th! e rewards of stealing from people or picking on the weak, but I try to avoid those things because I think it's wrong. If I thought it was wrong to do something but I did it anyway, wouldn't that make me a hypocrite? Or is that just if I tell others not to do it...?

Joel Feagler: I agree with Curly, eggs are an animal product. Vegans do not eat or wear animal products. But some people, while they call themselves "vegetarian" are not true vegetarians but choose not to eat meat that came from slaughted animals but will eat eggs and drink milk and wear fur and leather.
