I have learnt a lot about teeth lately, not qualified however but a lot of personal experience. I think you need to get your dentist to refer you to an oral and maxilofacial surgeon. Im my opinion, your dentist should not have taken an impacted wisdom tooth out (if it! was a wisdom tooth). However, you can get after this, dry roots or jaw bone damage. If it is still hurting, then get referred and PDQ as I know how bad tooth ache/infection pain can be. Not nice. If you have any other roots in your mouth too, then get them out now, teeth especially in the back top can cause sinus related problems and nasty infections. I hope this help, I had operations where I had to had gums slit and even they did not hurt too much after. Get salt watering in the meantime. I have another tooth op monday (19th feb). :(Good luck with it.T....answers 12:You definitely need a mouth guard to protect your teeth from further damage. You may also want to see an Endodontist to rule out needing a root canal. If you need a root canal and don't address it, your tooth will develop an infection and you will lose your tooth. Your teeth become brown and have cracks due to trauma (i.e. grinding). No way around it other than seeing a dentist who can refer you to an End! odontist to do the proper tests....answers 13:yes, you need to go to th! e ER. They can give you stronger pain meds and also antibiotics so you don't get an infection. Sounds like your dentist did too much prodding and should have sent you to an oral surgeon instead...answers 14:It sounds like you have an infection. If you can't get in touch with your dentist, go to the ER or urgent clinic. You need to get on antibiotics right away. Good luck.
