Wilburn Denice: As long as you know that all your dark colored clothes are color fast. Even so, I'd recommend throwing a color-catcher in with the load. You can buy color catcher/magnets at the grocery store, they're usually by the laundry soaps.
Jesse Japak: There are 6 of us and I do 3 loads a day. It is never ending. All of my kids put their own laundry up and that helps a lot. Even my 4 year old puts his own up with help of course. You really just have to stay on top of it when you have a house full.
Hal Palowoda: How To Wash Khaki Shorts
Melina Minneweather: I'm sick of Wal-mart and Big Lots washcloths that fall apart after 2 washings. I don't care about thickness or color--just something that can last a year or more.
Patrica Loertscher: If you've got a Costco near, their "hotel" bundle of white Cannon washcloths is reasonably priced and durable. Or go for even more durable... squares of linen fabric, hemmed. You'll want something about ! 6-8 oz per yard. And make sure it's real linen, not a blend or "linen look". You really don't need a terry cloth weave to get clean. http://www.fabrics-store.com is a possible source. Linen is a very strong and abrasion-resistant, nearly lintless fabric that is stronger wet than dry....Show more
Pamela Meno: do a load everyday
Geraldo Mccalla: I suggest to do laundry everyday. See the difference.I have tons of laundry too, and it's only my clothes and other stuff. I do laundry twice or trice a day because i change a lot. And i only use my towel once.
Rufus Plough: It's a never-ending, thankless job, I know...raised 5 kids...used to do 2 loads everyday. You factor in sheets, linens, bed comforters, pillows, curtains, throw rugs, plush toys, cleaning stuff (mop heads, etc), blankets, sleeping bags,.....coats, hats....the list is endless. But what I've learned is this: Get products that do the job right the FIRST time. Sometimes you think you "can't afford"! to buy a product like Tide, let's say...but truth is : you ca! n't afford NOT to>>using a good product saves time, energy and then you actually LOVE the finished result! Nothing beats the great smell of clean laundry! For this reason: I use Tide Sport (for tough stains and tough odors...wonderful scent) AND I use a Tide Stain Release Booster packet. I also will toss in liquid fabric softener and sometimes Purex or Unstopable Crystals.I hate when you go through all the trouble of doing laundry and your stuff comes out dingy and with stains....that's why I don't mind buying the above products...the job gets done right the first time. If you see a particular stubborn stain, just pour a bit of liquid Tide on it before tossing into machine.(Gain would be another good choice....BUT also with the Tide stain booster added).Another shortcut: you don't always have to sort stuff when you add a Shout Color Catcher sheet. Yes, it's one more product to buy....BUT it saves sorting and then colors don't transfer onto each other...so just add that into! the machine when you pop in the Tide booster. Things that you know should be washed separately, (like your husband's uniforms or maybe dark clothes and also sheets)...have mesh laundry bags to toss those into...when you see they're full, time to wash. Meanwhile, kids can dump their stuff into whatever spots you've set up for them. When a basket is full..it gets washed. ***and remember, if not a bleeding kind of material, loads can be combined with that Shout sheet. The Tide products are awesome...Tide is 6X stronger than any cheap detergent. It has enzymes (as does Gain)....laundry rinses out well...no dinginess remains on items...and that Tide booster whitens whites, brightens colors. You won't ever have to worry about using chlorine bleach again!!(You will also find when using the above products that your clothing will remain fragrant even when stored in dressers for weeks!! Your bedding will smell awesome, too)....so...to sum it up: use the products that will produce t! he best results, plus save you time...try it and see the difference it ! makes.....Show more
Carmina Stickney: I was wondering if I can use Vans Water & Stain Shield on my combat boots? 10 points!!! Real answers please.
Brenton Cornwall: Get your husband a uniform for every day and have a specific laundry basket just for his uniforms. With your kids also have a basket for each of them. Mon-Fri do one person laundry a day. Another tip that cuts down lots of laundry is use your towels then hang them up and reuse them.
Darrin Hixenbaugh: if your dark clothes have been laundered many times, yes.Wash in cold water, this cuts down on bleeding.
Launa Weingarten: Leather and suede can generally be sprayed with the same types of protectants. Your combat boots are most likely were not given any protectant treatment when produced, so, as long as your "Vans Water and Stain Shield" says that it can be used on regular leathers, you should be fine.If you want to be absolutely safe and sure, do a small patch on the back of the heal, or! on the tongue of one shoe, and then leave it for a week....Show more
Bob Nakamoto: I like to wash my khakis with lights so they will not turn dingy. Some darker colors will bleed no matter how many time they are washed and Khaki material is very easy to pick this up.
Lyman Gauld: Id say that you start doing a whole day of just laundry, then you should gradually separate your days into doing a couple of loads a day. Also time management is key, because if you forget you screwed :P
Michelle Sohre: I would read the care instructions on the tag for your khaki's. If you want to go ahead and wash them together I would go and buy some Shout Color Catchers. They are in the washing section of the store. Put one in the load of clothes and the colors that would normally "bleed "onto the other clothes will go into this cloth. They really work well and you get 24 for around 3dollars.
Perry Deshazior: There are only 2 of us here and I usually do at least a load o! f laundry once a day, or 2 every second day. It's a necessary evil, but ! if you keep up with it, then it won't be as bad as leaving it until the end of the week.
Becky Mosena: Consider having each family member help in some way with the laundry and folding. Learning about all the work involved could never begin too early. Each person could also put his/her own items away..another bit of help for you.
Corrina Faro: Dark clothes every third day. Whites the two days in between: EX: Monday, all bed linens and towels, once per week, have them use same towel all week, just hang to dry each day in their bathrooms. Then Tues-Thurs-Sun: Dark clothes.Wed-Fri: WhitesSaturday - No washing, fun day!Don't do it all on one day, takes to long and gets too annoying. One or two loads each day all week, is quicker and less mind numbing....Show more
Jannie Ariola: wash it
Charissa Riley: yes, if your dark clothes are older (or at least have been washed a few times). Wash in COLD and do not add any reds. clothes. they'll be fine!
M! agda Vandergriend: you can but if you have the new desert type it will mess the rough coat up and make them catch a lot more dirt and dust that you cant get off very easy.
Florencia Manolakis: in reality about the comparable solid ingredient occurred to me. I spilt cranberry juice on mine. What I did, advance into get the stain out after which I wiped down the two ugg boots with water. they are the tan ones, so it made the tan quite darker, yet they although appear reliable. wish this facilitates!
Melina Minneweather: I have that exact same problem, three kids 10, 8, and 18 months. I have pile of clothes in the middle of my room. What I'm going to try is have oldest wash their clothes when their hamper full. Hopefully that would help but right I'm just doing laundry everyday.
Lizzette Wendroth: 1 load per day. Hang up the bath towels to dry, and reuse. It really just never ends
Marya Fehn: Do a load every day.
Jesse Japak: It's the dark, ki! nd of khaki... could i was those with my dark colored clothes?
