Amada Greising: This is actually a fairly simply question, if you're referring to the theory of political independence as the theory that it would be a good idea for the US to declare independence from Britain. The Quartering Act required colonists to provide quarter to british troops stationed in the colonies and the stamp act required for a fee to be paid for an official stamp on certain goods. The colonists didn't want to do either one of these so some of them decided that if they declared independence and made their own country, then they wouldn't have to bother with these acts or anything else that Britain tried to impose on them for that matter....Show more
