answers1: The main problem that preoccupied Pre-Socratic philosophy
was to create Foundational Truth -- a state in which all questions
were valid and a person only had to find the right answer. Socratic
philosophy showed that one must not only question the answer but
question the question itself because, by implication, Socrates denied
the existence (and even the possibility of existence) of Foundational
Truth. Plato responded by positing the World of Ideas and by
presenting the Simile of the Cave,
