why criticism of plato's concept of education?

Lu Snide: He supports taking children from their mothers and raising them as wards of the state as soon as possible. With kids from highest casts getting the best education, kids from lower classes getting little to no education. that is impossible to unite with anything a modern democraty supports.

Jannette Kotz: He believed only the most educated were qualified to teach children and that allowing the parents to have a say was detrimental and abusive to the children's wellbeing.
