It would be best not to use the coax but if that is all it has then you are stuck with it. Run that line into the HTS coax input. Then go the superstore and get an HDMI cable to run from the HTS to the TV. Don't buy the one that is $70 bucks. They are just ripping you off. Buy the cheapest one they have...just make sure it is long enough to reach from the back of the HTS to the back of the TV. Plug it in and then switch the TV to the correct input setting (your TV will have several input modes depending on which HDMI port you plugged i! t into you will need to switch the TV input mode to that plug ! number. Should be on the remote control. I see from the SonyStyle website that it has 2 inputs capable of carrying digital sound. Those are the Coaxial Audio Digital Input & Optical Audio Inputs.This home theatre can do Dolby Digital... but if you just connect the red and white jacks, all that goes to waste and you have stereo only.I know nothing of your cable box, but virtually all of them have at least one of these types of outputs. I'd do a google search to educate yourself on what those outputs look like and then I'd look on your cable box to see what you have. It will require that you purchase a cable that you apparently do not have, but they are fairly cheap. Nia Monopoli: From your tv what audio connection are you using and connection to the home theater? You should use optical of coax from tv to home theater for sound, or from the cable box (optical or coax cable) to the home theater and then to tv. Most tv prgram are only in stereo, if it is in Dolby Surround then you will get surround sound with your home theater. Optical and coax cable are the only cable that will carry digital surround sound, RCA jacks are stereo only. Hope this helps.
